Cookie policy

Explanation of technically necessary functions, consent and local usage analytics.

Private sources and internal data

Private source documents are stored outside the public web root. Public output uses server-side public views, allowlists and a leak gate. Internal case references and blocked names are not intended for publication.

Professional and publicly documented personal data

LawReport may process professionally and legally relevant information about persons from official registers, court and authority websites and other verifiable primary sources. The origin and review time should be recorded for each published factual statement. Private evidence-preservation snapshots of server-side source retrievals are stored with URL, retrieval date and time, timezone, HTTP metadata and cryptographic hash so later source changes or deletions remain traceable. These raw snapshots are not public. Affected persons may request access, correction or contest a statement.

Cookies and consent

Necessary technologies provide core functions such as storing the consent preference and authenticated sessions. First-party analytics is optional and preselected as “ON” by default. It is activated only after consent and can be changed or withdrawn at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Local usage analytics

LawReport local usage analytics is optional and preselected as “ON” by default in the privacy settings. It starts only after “Accept all” or explicit activation in settings. Page views and engagement duration are processed for first-party statistics; GeoIP is evaluated server-side. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the analytics table and are replaced by time-bound hashes.

Law Community

Law Community profiles are neither public nor indexable until admin approval. Identity and professional claims are checked separately; sensitive professional or official claims may require additional evidence.

Applications from lawyers and law firms

For authorship or premium advertising applications, LawReport processes business contact, professional, law-firm, register, practice-area and interest information as well as submitted evidence and publication URLs. Verification status, internal review notes, quality dimensions, weighted score, hard-fail findings and requalification deadlines are retained for assessment, evidence, abuse prevention and ongoing programme control. Applications are not published automatically. Payment changes neither scores nor editorial decisions. Advertising is served only for currently qualified partners and is clearly labelled Advertisement/Sponsored.

AI and source analysis

OpenAI functions are used only server-side and within administrative workflows. Private source data is not sent directly to OpenAI by public browser scripts. Raw AI results remain internal until editorial approval.

Retention and categories

Necessary entries are retained only for as long as technically required for sessions, security, proof of consent or billing.
