This profile shows publicly documented roles, dates and sources. Historical information is kept separate from current roles.
Profile & professional context
Sourced profile of Dominik Weiss covering his former judicial role at the Wil District Court, resignation on 31 January 2026, the 2020 election and an earlier vice-presidential role.
Resignation and present status
The courts' 2025 annual report records that Dominik Weiss, a permanently employed judge at the Wil District Court, resigned effective 31 January 2026. The same passage names Jolanda Genton as his elected successor. LawReport therefore treats Weiss's judicial post as a historical role.
The staff page updated on 4 February 2026 no longer lists Weiss among the permanently employed judges. This is used only as a current cross-check; the explicit resignation in the annual report remains the decisive evidence.
Election to the Wil District Court
In the 2020 renewal election, Dominik Weiss was elected as a full-time or part-time judge of the Wil District Court. The State Chancellery published the uncontested election on 21 September 2020 for the 2021–2027 term. His later resignation ended that term early.
The election record confirms a publicly elected judicial office. It is not extended beyond the date supported by later evidence: the more recent resignation record takes precedence for the current snapshot.
Earlier leadership role
A parliamentary inspection report on the Wil District Court names Dominik Weiss as vice-president at the time of a visit on 11 December 2014. This is retained as historical context, not as a present office.
The dossier therefore separates three periods: an earlier vice-presidency, the elected judicial mandate beginning in 2021, and the documented resignation effective 31 January 2026. This prevents old sources from being read as current status.
